Compare the practical experience
Choosing between online and in-person Reiki is mainly a question of comfort, access and expectations. An in-person visit means travelling to a shared setting; an online appointment means making space at home. MysticCharu lists both formats, with in-person sessions in Ahmedabad. Before choosing, ask what each format actually includes. The word “online” does not by itself explain whether there is a video conversation, guided relaxation or another practice.
When an in-person visit may suit you
An in-person appointment may appeal if you prefer meeting a practitioner face to face or find it easier to put aside distractions outside your home. Consider travel time, the physical setting and your access needs. Ask whether a session uses touch and make your preference clear. Confirm the location and appointment before travelling. If you need assistance with stairs, transfers or seating, discuss this ahead of time rather than assuming a building is accessible.
When an online appointment may suit you
An online conversation can be more convenient if travel is difficult or you live outside Ahmedabad. Ask which platform is used, whether video is required, what happens if the connection fails and whether you can remain seated. Arrange a private space where you can hear comfortably. Agree on the time with a timezone attached, such as IST (UTC+05:30). You should not need to buy equipment or share sensitive personal details just to ask about the service.
Keep expectations grounded
Neither format should come with a guarantee of healing. NCCIH says Reiki has not been clearly demonstrated to help health conditions, and its proposed energy field is not supported by scientific evidence. Claims that distance Reiki is clinically equivalent to an in-person treatment should not be assumed. A relaxing setting or supportive conversation may be personally meaningful, but it does not replace medical evaluation or ongoing care.
A checklist before deciding
Ask about the session activities, fee, duration, consent, cancellation terms and follow-up. Check whether the approach fits your comfort with touch, privacy and conversation. Tell the practitioner about relevant access preferences without feeling obliged to disclose more than necessary. If you are unsure, ask for an explanation of both formats before paying. You can also choose neither; taking time to decide is reasonable.
Talk through the options
Message Charu with: “Hello, I am considering online or in-person Reiki. Could you explain what each format includes and the current fees?” Add your timezone or location if it helps arrange the conversation. The website opens WhatsApp directly, so there is no appointment form to complete.
